Quickie: Blueberry Pomegranate Smoothie

I know I haven't really made anything elaborate this week, and that's mostly because I feel a little lost without my oven. I do, after all, consider myself to be more of a baker than a cook. Plus, my dad is away on a fishing trip, so I'm a little less inclined to make fancy meals just for two people. But anyway, this week, I've moved on to trying out the newest addition to my kitchen, a really fantastic blender. Unfortunately, our old Magic Bullet finally lost its magic, so we upgraded. The new one apparently has 2 horsepower, and I must say that those 2 horses make one heck of a smoothie! I really am amazed at how fast and thorough this thing is, so I'm sorry if smoothie recipes are too easy or boring for some of you, but I could never get tired of them. For this particular smoothie, I used the seeds from the other half of the pomegranate I used for Monday's recipe, and the seeds do give it a little texture. Still, I think it's worth using fresh pomegranate instead of only juice, and if it seems too gritty for your liking, just blend the heck out of it, and the seeds should break down.

INGREDIENTS:
(makes about 16 ounces)
seeds of 1/2 pomegranate
3/4 cup fresh blueberries
a splash of cranberry-pomegrante juice
2 tablespoons vanilla Greek yogurt
about 1/3 cup crushed ice

DIRECTIONS:
1. Throw everything in a blender.

2. Blend.
3. Enjoy!

Tomorrow, I'm going to attempt to make my own almond butter, which is what I originally had planned for today, but why do today what you can put off until tomorrow?
